Loftness 61" Battle Ax - L Series

Loftness® 61" Battle Ax® - L Series

Starting at $22,499.00

Do you need to mulch brush and small trees but have a low-flow skid steer or compact track loader? What you need is a Loftness® 61" L-Series Battle Ax®. It was built to work with low-flow skid steers and compact track loaders with 15- 35.9 GPM, weighing up to 10,300 pounds.

The L Series Battle Ax lets you take advantage of the innovative, high-performance Battle Ax rotor and Loftness's exclusive two-stage cutting chamber to quickly mulch material while creating some of the smallest, most consistent particle sizes.

Powered by a 45cc high-pressure gear motor designed to balance speed and torque. A staggered tooth arrangement ensures single-tooth contact with the work surface at all times while maintaining optimal rotor balance. The adjustable primary shear bar lets you control particle size and production rates.

Machine performance can be easily monitored through the integrated pressure gauge. The tree pusher bar has welded claw hooks for superior control when mulching trees. The Battle Ax's unique body shape and hitch angle let you tilt it back to fully expose the knives while cutting trees for better performance.

These features allow you to get more productivity out of less hydraulic system capacity.

Depth Gauges – The Battle Ax rotor design uses built-in depth gauges to control cutting depth, like raker teeth on a chainsaw.

2-Stage Cutting Chamber – A pair of shear bars produces finer mulch with fewer passes. The primary shear bar is adjustable and controls particle sizes.

Convenient Tooth Mounting – The cutting teeth are mounted to the rotor with a single bolt. They can be easily reversed, replaced, or removed on the job site with a common hex socket.

High-Performance Teeth Options – Choose from 4-point beaver teeth, reversible planer blades, or double carbide teeth.

Axial Piston Motor – The high-pressure axial piston motor is a reliable powerhouse that's engineered for quiet operation and excellent efficiency. It is designed for use with case drain.

Synchronous Belt Drive – The positive drive, cog belt, and sprocket design maximizes efficiency and requires less maintenance than other drive types.

Machined Anti-Wrap Bearing Protection – Rotor ends are machined to mate with close tolerance, machined anti-wrap rings, which minimize debris in the bearing chamber.

Adjustable Push Bar – Constructed with integrated, welded claw hooks, the bar helps push falling trees and brush away from the power unit, while also allowing them to be properly positioned for efficient feeding into the head.

Performance Monitoring – An integrated PSI gauge that monitors the hydraulic load is positioned for easy viewing from the skid steer cab. It helps keep the Battle Ax at the optimum hydraulic load for peak performance throughout an application.

Premium Strength Steel Housing – All body components are laser-cut from premium strength steel. Abrasion-resistant steel is used in high-wear areas.

Steel Deflector Chains – Running the entire length of the mulching attachment, steel deflector chains improve safety by reducing flying debris.

Maximum Visibility – The Battle Ax was designed for maximum visibility from the skid steer cab, which increases productivity and efficiency.

Universal Skid Steer Mount – The universal mount lets you use the Battle Ax with any brand or model of skid steer or compact track loader.

Hydraulic Hose Routing – Hoses are right-sized and routed to reduce the chance of binding, yet are long enough for a full range of motion without damage. Hoses are included; couplers are not.

A right-hand hose kit is optional for use on skid steers with hydraulic couplers on the right-hand side of the machine.

13.5" Diameter Rotor — 1 3/4" Piloted Double Taper Roller Bearings

2-Year Warranty – The Battle Ax comes standard with an industry-leading 2-year warranty.
